Two films from the regional competition of the 6th ZagrebDox have shared T-Com Audience Award: ‘People from the Milky Way’ by Miroslav Mikuljan and ‘The Destiny of Line 13‘ by Irena Škorić. Each film has won equal number of your votes.
Mikuljan’s ‘People from the Milky Way’ tells us how accession to the European Union affects the small dairy farms in Croatian region of Zagorje which produce and sell cottage cheese and cream, so popular in Zagreb. The film analyzes the effects of the world politics on small dairy farmers and their families and questions what are the prospects of their business in European Union and will their sons and daughters continue the family business or leave their farms and pursue their happiness elsewhere.
Irena Škorić’s ‘The Destiny of Line 13′ follows the passengers of Zagreb’s tram no. 13 and conveys their personal stories and destinies. This tram with unlucky number is also known by the worst tram accident in European history.
